Bonita Springs easily has some of the most desirable luxury communities in the entire state, even the Southeast. All have experienced enormous growth over the past few years. One community – The Colony Golf & Bay Club – is set to grow even more with the addition of a new residence.
WCI Communities, a developer at The Colony, announced that it will construct a new 21-story residential tower at The Colony. The tower, named Altaira, will contain 76 units – four per floor – and construction will begin next year, with a completion date scheduled for June 2017.
Residents will be able to choose between two floor plans that offer anywhere from 3,000 to 3,300 square-feet of space. Residents will also gain access to garage parking and storage, as well as guest suites and amenities located on the second floor.
What makes this tower different from other luxury residential towers in The Colony? For starters, there will be fewer residences in the tower than in other communities. Units are also designed to be larger, with more open floor plans. Each unit should also have more glass, which affords better views, and will be decorated in a casual yet sophisticated style.
The move comes after an explosion in luxury real estate in the Bonita Springs area. Luxury gated communities have seen an influx of demand from buyers who want the luxury and amenities of resort-style condo living in beautiful and elegant “sky homes” that look out over the water. WCI Communities recognized this demand and has decided to build a new tower to accommodate these buyers.
It’s an exciting time to live in Southwest Florida, for sure. There are just so many options for high-quality, five-star living. I’m excited to see how Altaira progresses and develops and can’t wait to help people find their dream homes and move in.
